2011 Year-End Giving

Dear Coast Hills Family,

Just think about this for a minute—what are you a part of that will echo throughout eternity?

Do you realize that you and I, as we work together in the name of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, can actually be a part of something on this earth that will not only make a difference today but also for eternity? It’s true!

I don’t know about you but the thought of being a part of something that echoes throughout eternity gets me excited.

As I reflect on the relationships and the ministry of this past year at Coast Hills, I know that the Lord is pleased and that an eternal difference is being made.

But I don’t want to reflect only on the amazing ministry we shared together this past year; I also want to look into the future. I want to focus on how each of us, individually and collectively, can continue to make an eternal difference in the lives of those around us.

Picture what it would be like if next year each one of us committed to stepping out and sharing our faith with our neighbors, friends, co-workers and classmates in a creative but intentional way. What would happen in our community if over the next twelve months several hundred excited new believers were added to our church family?
Picture what it would be like if each one of us committed to serving either in the church or the community, using the gifts and talents that God has given us. What would happen in our church and our community as several thousand Christ followers spent this next year asking, “How can I serve?” versus “How can I be served?”

Picture what it would be like if you decided that this year, you were going to challenge yourself spiritually by reading through the Bible, joining a small group, memorizing scripture or carving out a daily quiet time with the Lord. What would happen if each of us took it upon ourselves to go to the next level in our discipleship to Jesus?

Each of us can make an eternal difference once we make a personal decision and commitment to the Lord to follow Him wherever He leads no matter what the cost.

I believe that God is inviting us both as individuals and as a church family to take the next step in our discipleship to Jesus. So what does that look like for you? Is it sharing your faith, is it serving, is it challenging yourself in a new way to grow spiritually? These are only a few of the many examples of what it might look like for you to grow as a disciple of Jesus and I want you to be praying about that for the next few weeks. Then, in January, we are going to give you an opportunity to share your commitment with the Lord in a meaningful and memorable way.

In addition, I would like you to pray about making a year-end contribution so that we can continue building Coast Hills into a church that is actively living out the Gospel in community and proclaiming Christ to the world.  Your December giving is critical to our church because it represents nearly 20% of the church budget.

As God leads you, please fill out the enclosed card and either mail it or drop it in the offering during one of our weekend services. You can also give securely online at www.coasthillschurch.org/giving.

So let’s go for it—let’s walk by faith into the future arm in arm keeping in step with the Spirit as we grow together in our discipleship to Jesus. As always, I am incredibly thankful for you and your partnership in the Gospel ministry and I’m excited to see what the Lord is going to do through us in 2012 that will echo throughout eternity.

With warmest regards as your pastor,
