The Good News … The reason we're here is to tell you about Him

The Good News is that God loves you and sent His Son to pay the price for your sin.  Forgiveness is a gift that Jesus offers to everyone who puts their faith in Him for salvation.

Unfortunately, many people think they can earn their way to heaven by following rules, attending religious services, or being a good person.  But the truth is that the only way to a fulfilling life here and now and an eternal future in heaven is through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

In order to have this life changing relationship with Jesus Christ, there are a few things you need to know:

1) God loves you.
God’s willingness to forgive your sin is motivated by His amazing love.  No one can earn or deserve God’s love, it is a free gift to everyone who will receive it. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-5)

2) You are a sinner.
The word “sin” is really an archery term that means, “to miss the mark”.  The distance between the bull’s-eye and wherever the arrow lands is called the “sin”.  The bull’s-eye according to God’s standard is perfection—anything else is sin.  That means that every human being is a sinner because everyone has missed God’s mark of perfection: none of us are perfect. (Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10)

3) Sin separates you from God.
Sin forms a barrier that prevents you from entering into a relationship with God. The Bad News is that every person is born separated from God by sin destined for an eternity separated from God in a literal place called Hell. (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23)

4) You can't save yourself.
People often think that through good works they can overcome the sin barrier between themselves and God. But this is not true. There's nothing you can do to restore the broken relationship with God; that’s why you need a Savior.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-5)

5) God sent His son Jesus to remove the sin barrier.
What you cannot do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! Jesus gave His life to pay the price for your sin. Jesus died on the cross and then rose from the dead to demonstrate that His payment was acceptable to God. By taking your punishment on Himself, Jesus provided the only way for your sin to be forgiven and to have a relationship with God.

(John 14:6; 1 Peter 2:23; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 10:9)

6) You can receive Jesus Christ through faith.
Faith is trusting in what Jesus has done for you rather than trusting your own efforts to be forgiven. Faith is complete reliance on Christ for your salvation.  Faith involves confessing your sin to Jesus, asking for His forgiveness based upon His work on the cross.
(John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10)

7) Through prayer you can trust in Jesus Christ.
You can be forgiven of your sin and guaranteed a home in heaven through prayer.  Prayer is simply talking to God.
Admit to God that you are a sinner. Ask Him to forgive you.  Invite Jesus to become your Lord and Savior and to help you live a new life in Christ.
