The Fost/Adopt & Safe Families Ministry exists to bless families who have taken at-risk children into their home through a team of church volunteers. This includes providing access to prayer support, physical items (e.g., clothing, diapers, and meals), and a support group that meets regularly on the church campus.
Support Group Launch!
When: The first Sunday of each month, from 5:00-6:30pm, starting October 7. Free childcare is available. Please go the Kid Life check-in kiosks in the lobby to check your children into the Kid Life classroom.
Purpose: For families inside and outside of CHC who are involved with fost/adopt or Safe Families, that want to build community and gain practical tools to connect with children who have experienced trauma.
Curriculum: The Connection curriculum, written by Dr. Purvis, includes a short video, discussion questions, and a workbook. Free workbooks provided to those who RSVP and come to the October 7th meeting! Afterwards, they can be purchased for a small fee.
RSVP: Click to email Wendy Chin as soon as possible.
Lotsa Helping Hands
We are continuing to use Lotsa Helping Hands to post needs (e.g., meals, clothes, babysitting, prayer requests) that current Host Families have. If you haven't signed up yet, please click here and create a profile. Once you do so, you will be able to configure user settings regarding email notifications. We will never spam you!
Tax Deductible Donations
This is now possible. Click here and select "Safe Families Donation" under "Fund" to give directly to our ministry once or on a regular basis. Funds in this account help us meet the needs of host families when they arise.
